Du 7 au 13 octobre s’est tenu le Prix Bayeux Calvados-Normandie des correspondants de guerre. Sans surprise, le conflit israélo-palestinien et ses souffrances civiles étaient au cœur de cette 31e édition. Le photographe Mahmud Hams a remporté pour la troisième fois le premier prix photo avec son cliché Gaza, in the hell (en illustration). Le journaliste palestinien Rami Abou Jamous, a été primé deux fois, en presse écrite et TV grand format. Dans Gaza, fuir l’enfer, il montre sa course contre le temps pour échapper aux troupes israéliennes dans le nord du pays, avec son fils de deux ans. En radio, c’est le journaliste Andrew Harding de la BBC qui a remporté le premier prix avec son enquête pour retrouver les passeurs responsables de la mort de la petite Sara, noyée pendant sa traversée de la Manche.
